As
a painter: -
Creative limitation at his official job
and his artistic talent inspired him to paint.
He painted part time. 9 to 5 p.m. job with L&T
gave him an opportunity to pursue his painting
skills.
He had his maiden show with 16 paintings on theme
of Divinity at the Taj Art Gallery, Taj Mahal
Hotel, Mumbai in 1983. Later there was no looking
back. Many solo shows followed:
- 1985,1990, 1993 Taj art Gallery, Mumbai
- 1986, Bajaj Art Gallery, Mumbai
- 1987, 1995, 1999, 2004 and 2008 at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai
- 2011 at Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai

He painted figurative in his
earlier days. Today he is into abstract. His latest
show at Jehangir Art Gallery, he exhibited 26
of his Black & White abstracts in mixed-media
were highly appreciated. He is a perfectionist
and strongly believes that there is always scope
for improvement. He is a student (of arts) and
will always remain a student.

In
Advertising: -
1964 Behram walked out of J.J. Institute
of Arts after successfully completing four years
of certificate in Applied Arts (Commercial Arts).
He did apprenticeship for a year and started freelancing.
Opened his designing studio at fort, Gogha street,
Mumbai. He specialized in window display and had
number of reputed clients, such as Garden Silk,
Max Factor and Various large departmental stores
in Mumbai.
Apart from window displays, he designed advertisements
for Tata services Ltd. and Tata Sons for their foreign
press publicity.
He closed his studio in 1971 to work in advt. agencies
as creative for couple of years.
In 1977 he shifted his base to an engineering giant
of India, Larsen & Toubro Ltd.
He started his career fresh as a visualisor in their
in house advt. department. Retired from the same
organization in 2001 to pursue his goal and ambition
of a full time painter.
During his stay in Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (L&T)
his portfolio was full of various responsibilities
such as designing and executing corporate campaigns,
print production annual reports, brochures, exhibitions
and outdoor publicity. He also directed photography
for the corporate high level executives. |
Family
Background
He stays with his wife and only son in the suburbs
of Mumbai. His wife is in the teaching profession
and runs a full-fledged Nursery for kids.
His son in an upcoming T.V. and Film actor. Behram
himself is into modeling and acting. He writes short
poems, clicks creative pics and loves listening
to jazz and watching good movies. |
